Introduction

‘Through bog, through bush, through brake, through brier…’

It's modern day NY, the Mob are in charge and the Duke's word is law. But planning a wedding is never easy, especially when there are family feuds and the locals are picking off the guests. Gangsters, goons, or vampires, you can't escape your family.

The Lovers: Lysander loves Hermia. Hermia loves him. Demetrius loves Hermia. Hermia doesn’t love him. Helena loves Demetrius. Demetrius doesn’t love her.

The Fighters: Like all marriages, there are the good years, and the bad years. This is a bad year. Arguing over the guardianship of an orphan child, Oberon and Titania are at each other’s throats and when you’re magic corporeal, the effect can be felt throughout the world.

The Fools: Commissioned by the Duke to perform at his wedding. An unlikely group of friends struggle with script, rehearsals, costume, a jackass prima-donna, and the attentions of a mischievous assistant director but as always, the show must go on!
