Frances and I joined SLTC after we'd left school and before we went to drama school. We dived headlong into SLTC life, performing, doing stage management and often working behind the bar. Frances went on to Middlesex Poly in 1985 to do a 3 year professional acting course. She and I (Jeni de Haart), best friends since the age of 11 when we met at school, worked on most performance projects together. We were both in a band for a while, Abandance, and gigged regularly around London for 18 months or so until Frances left the band. Frances died aged 22, 17 November 1986 from Meningitis.
