It provoked so many feelings. I found it compelling and disturbing, and judging from the absolute silence and concentration around me, my fellow audience members were equally transfixed. I am blown away by what you have achieved, not even moving beyond the team you have pulled together. I knew before I arrived you had something special, but it blew away any expectations. You have created something truly special, that no other company could achieve. Truly great work. [[David Somner]]

I was on tenterhooks for most of Vampir; scared, invested and amazed at different points. Some gorgeous and sumptuous set-pieces really make this a go-see! Terrifying moments and amazing ‘body-sculpting’(is that a word? -it is now…)  that defy what humans can do. Terrific! Go now! Well done to everyone involved as you truly smouldered onstage. And the live music and tech was a performance all of its own. [[Gregory Williams]]

Introduction

A creature invented in folklore, given credence by religion and celebrated in the arts, emerges from the twisted shadows of a world struck with a fear as primal and as ancient as the myth itself. Vampir explores the enduring appeal of the vampire and the true meaning of monster.

Vampir is a physical theatre piece which explores the vampire myth as an allegory for homophobia. The play was first performed in 1994 and is being resurrected and reinvented for 2022.

Thank you so much for your brilliant work. I was expecting to be entertained. Well, I was captivated by the ensemble. Theatre as ritual, or ritual theatre. I am blown away by by the power of the body to evoke deep feelings and say so much without words. Well done!! - Janine Wunsche

This is an outstanding piece of theatre. Anyone who hasn’t booked tickets needs to see this. It’s thought provoking and beautiful and dark and sad (bring tissues). Just remarkable what incredible creative minds we have here. I felt proud to be an SLTer tonight. Melanie Boyce
