Introduction
'About four weeks ago, some bright spark had the demented idea of putting on a full scale musical in the Bell Theatre, in order to raise money for a new lighting rig for Prompt Corner. The spectacle you are about to witness is the culmination of that dream. Squeezing in rehearsals into an already packed schedule has been a nightmare. But with the generosity of the directors of the upcoming shows, Othello and Privates On Parade, we've managed to beg, borrow and steal rehearsal space wherever we could. I shall never forget climbing up on to the roof of the theatre to be confronted with the sight of 10 girls mincing away to the strains of Keep Young and Beautiful. An enormous amount of hard work has gone into tonight's performance. We've managed to get an unprecedented number of new members onto the stage - and some older members doing things you never would have thought possible. And it's lovely to see the Youth Group members on stage again, making this one of the largest cast productions in recent history. Enjoy the show.'
