(variously Felix and Fred) Sherman, a somewhat highbrow who writes pretentious, unmarketable stories. The Pussycat is Doris W. (variously surnamed), a whore with a heart of gold who gets thrown out of her apartment building for marketing her own commodity only too efficiently.
