What great fun this production was to direct! We had never done a real musical before (just some Music Halls & Reviews, but singers and dancers just appeared overnight! The best piece of casting was little as Mole. I still remember her first appearance at the opening of the show. And,   as Toad was just made for the part. In fact the four leads were all brilliant.  Not so brilliant was the idea of making all the sets out of giant-sized children's building blocks. This was a good idea from the design point of view, but the scene changes(by my willing cast of Stoats and Weasels) seemed to take for ever. But the audiences loved it, which is all that matters...Alex Kanarek.
