Introduction
Down-to-earth Pearl, label-addicted wannabe model Shelley, sweetly ditzy Linda and fretful, down on herself Jan are all off to what they hope will be the magical land of Oz. Shelley craves five-star luxury; Pearl seeks cultural enrichment, and Jan wants to catch up with her boyfriend Joe, the former fish-factory foreman, who has gone walkabout Down Under. Linda is too consumed by guilt over the big win to care much.
As they travel from Hull to the Gold Coast, trekking through the outback to Uluru and ending up in the bright lights of Sydney, they also make a journey of self-discovery with laughs and tears along the way.

Cast
PEARL, a retired fish-packer, mid-fifties, married from Hull. Pearl is the head of the group as she was at work.
JAN, her workmate, mid forties, from Hull. Going out with Joe, but he’s been travelling for the last 9 months, causing Jan to doubt him. But she doubts that good things are going to happen to her anyway.
SHELLEY, her workmate, mid-twenties, from Hull. Shelley’s brash and loud, but possibly over-compensating.
LINDA, her workmate, mid-twenties, from Hull. Linda can’t come to terms with having won the money. She wishes everyone well and wants everyone to be happy.
JOE, Jan’s boyfriend. Needs to be about the same age or slightly older than Jan. He’s also from Hull. Down to earth and sensible but wondering if life is passing him by, hence the trip to Oz.
DANNY, a traveller, Australian. Danny dispenses homespun wisdom but his insights can prove helpful.
BILL, a flight attendant, at an English airport.
BEN, a flight attendant, at an English airport.
SHANE, a surfer. Australian, laid back and definitely cool.
CHARLIE, an aristocratic drop-out. Possibly older, British. Came to Australia, liked the beach, never left.
KOALA BARE, a drag queen, has to be fabulous! Australian.
BONDI BITCH, a drag queen. Australian.
