Introduction
Between 1901 & 1904 Captain Robert Falcon Scott led the failed British attempt to reach the South Pole.
In 1910, encouraged by a name of patriotism and with the backing of the Admiralty, the second British party set sail in the "Terra Nova" for Antarctica and the goal of the South Pole.
This play explores the people behind the legend from their conquest of the Pole (January 1912) to their ultimate tragic demise on the Antarctic ice floes just a few miles from the base camp.
With seven roles this is a play that will challenge actors and audiences. It was performed at the Chichester Festival Theatre in 1980 to great acclaim.
