Introduction
Henry Fielding (22 April 1707 – 8 October 1754) was an English novelist, irony writer, and dramatist known for earthy humour and satire, as well as being the chief magistrate in London and one of the founders of the Bow Street Runners, London's first police force. His best known work is The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling (1749)
