Book & Lyrics by Dennis de Marne & Ron Pember. Music by Ron Pember

Directed by Jenny Gammon & Kay George

Performances: Tue 7th – Sat 11th October 2014, Bell Theatre

Introduction

Jack the Ripper is a lively, comical, sometimes sad portrayal indicative of the incidents and street life which took place in the East End of London in November 1888.

The musical play is an atmospheric commentary rather than an historical re-enactment. It shifts between reality and artificiality with characters representing the real people of the streets as well as the actors, members and audience of the typical gaudy misic hall of the Victorian time.

So who is Jack? Is he noble? A religious zealot, a surgeon, or someone nearer to home?
