Introduction

Down-to-earth Pearl, label-addicted wannabe model Shelley, sweetly ditzy Linda and fretful, down on herself Jan are all off to what they hope will be the magical land of Oz. Shelley craves five-star luxury; Pearl seeks cultural enrichment, and Jan wants to catch up with her boyfriend Joe, the former fish-factory foreman, who has gone walkabout Down Under. Linda is too consumed by guilt over the big win to care much.

As they travel from Hull to the Gold Coast, trekking through the outback to Uluru and ending up in the bright lights of Sydney, they also make a journey of self-discovery with laughs and tears along the way.

Crew

With thanks to: Gavin Parker for acting as our lighting Consultant; Richard George (www.3dls.co.uk, info@3dls.co.uk) also for his help with lights; Mike Thompson for the loan of the surf-board; Beckenham Theatre Centre for loaning costumes; Karen Webb and Helen Chadney for large shoes; Michelle's mum for helping out with sewing; Bar staff, Front of House and Box Office for making it all possible; both Durang shows, Jack King and James Hough for being sympathetic with rehearsal space, three cheers for the Gipsy Hill Tavern and Alleyn's School for generously allowing us to use their facilities. And last but not least many thanks go to the Spam Club for help above and beyond; shifting, lifting, loaning and many sympathetic ears.

Thank you all. Without you this would not have been.
